Horrible stay at this Hostel not Hotel!

We have tried to sleep one night at this so called Hotel, but it was not possible. The Hostel is very dirty and old, it has a 3 star rating, but I think it has one too many stars. No air conditioner, no mosquito nets and no working Wireless Internet! The Hotel is placed right next to a Highway and you have no possibility to get some rest, it is much to loud! Avoid this place!

Horrible worn down hotel with rude customer service. Booked and paid the night before, but bank transfers takes time and despite showing proof of the payment they refused to give me the key before I paid again. In cash. There is no AC in the room or sun screening on the windows. My training watch showed a temperature of 46 degC in the room at 17h00 in the afternoon, and with all windows fully open during the night the temperature was still 28 deg next morning. Totally inhabitable in the summer. There is a highway and a train station right outside the window making horrible noise. Impossible to sleep. Worst ever hotel experience. Stay away.

I had a terrible experience in this Hotel. Staff was incredibly rude and unpolite. They had a problem with the payment, I offered to use another credit card but they wanted only cash. I withdrawn from the ATM (so I payed the bank operation...) , I payed but I HAD TO ASK for the receipt (I travelled for work). Since the receptionist made a mistake on the receipt, they asked me to pay after (I booked 2 nights) and they gave me back my cash. I was having at dinner with my colleagues outside Berlin and the same recepitonist called me accusing me (shouting) that I was a thief, I wanted to escape because my credit card didn't work and I had to come back immediately to the hotel (which close at 22) otherwise He would have collected my luggage from my room and put it in the lobby!!! Pure madness!! I told him "Touch my stuff and I call the police". I checked-out the sequent morning and I normally payed with the same credit card that he told me wasn't valid.... I didn't receive any apologies but on the opposite the receptionist was still very rude... Never happened to me something like this and I travel a lot.

This is a great place to stay in Berlin. The rooms are spotless. We had rooms 508 and 509, got a good night's sleep, no traffic noise which I had read about. The Budesplatz station is less than a minute from the hotel and can get you all around Berlin. The staff were really friendly when I spoke to them at check in and asking for a few things, also at check out, never encountered anyone rude at all. Only negative which isn't anything major is I would have like a double duvet cover on a double bed. I had the room on my own and was only given a single duvet for a double bed. If definenitly stay here again.

Poor value for money. But, it has the basic necessities if you need a bed and being close to public transport (sbahn) station. Free wifi is available. It's got some basic shops around, but you'll need to commute to major shopping areas and tourist sites. No fan or air conditioning in the rooms. Just windows. Small shower. Only 1 key is provided, so, you'll have to share between yourselves.
